Job Overview

Kiewit Infrastructure Engineers is seeking a highly skilled Senior Bridge Engineer to lead the structural engineering scope of work for permanent works design. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in bridge design, including the production of bridge plans and specifications, and be comfortable integrating into a multidisciplinary team to produce constructible and cost-effective solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and perform engineering design tasks, coordinating with CADD and construction estimating teams in developing plans, specifications, and estimates for preliminary and final design of bridges, walls, industrial structures, marine structures, and other minor structures.
  • Lead and mentor other staff, ensuring the design work meets the quality, budget, and schedule expected on the project.
  • Understand technical requirements of projects, identify technical risks, and implement engineering principles to develop solutions.
  • Participate in technical meetings and discussions, strategizing solutions to complex or unique technical problems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or greater in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering.
  • 10+ years' experience in relevant structural/bridge engineering design.
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer in at least one province/state, with the ability to obtain registration in the Province of British Columbia.
  • Strong all-around theoretical knowledge of structural engineering principles.
