About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Pipeline Technician Equipment Operator to join our team at FortisBC. As a key member of our Transmission Operations team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to the maintenance and operation of our pipeline infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain all mobile equipment used in Transmission operations work, including backhoes, excavators, truck-mounted cranes, forklifts, and side booms.
  • Perform all duties of a Pipeline Technician 2, including driving, operating, and maintaining equipment.
  • May be required to operate hydraulic pipe benders.
Requirements
  • Valid certificates for all applicable equipment in accordance with WorkSafe BC requirements.
  • Class 1 drivers' license with air endorsement is required.
  • Demonstrated safe work habits and adherence to safety regulations and practices on a sustained basis.
  • Safe driving record and ability to pass Company driving tests if required.
  • Mechanical aptitude, initiative, and sense of responsibility.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Additional Information
  • This role has standby and on-call requirements based on operational needs.
  • This role has extensive overtime requirements based on operational needs.
  • This role has extensive travel/out of town requirements based on operational needs.
  • The successful candidate must adhere to the residency requirements of this position.
  • This position has a requirement to be clean-shaven as per WCB standards.
