Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Construction Technology Manager to join our team in Montreal, Quebec. As a key member of our district team, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful implementation of construction technology solutions, including Building Information Modeling (BIM), to drive efficiency, productivity, and quality.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement BIM strategies to enhance construction processes and improve collaboration between design and construction teams.
- Manage the integration of construction resources, including personnel and budgets, to support new pursuits and projects.
- Collaborate with the estimating team to establish and manage resources and budgets for new projects.
- Participate in project meetings and proposal development to showcase BIM and other construction technology capabilities.
- Communicate best practices and facilitate knowledge sharing between projects and districts.
- Lead the implementation, management, and best practices of digital workflows.
- Oversee the coordination and management of commercial details and deliverables for multiple projects.
- Ensure seamless communication between design and construction teams.
- During the research phase, collaborate with the project team to examine and recommend areas where BIM tools and processes can be integrated into the project, and allocate BIM resources accordingly.
- Participate in establishing the scope of design deliverables and commercial requirements.
- Participate in pursuing and proposing projects, including developing and presenting narrative and presentation materials.
- Develop and manage BIM execution plans.
- Degree in a related field (e.g., architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC), civil engineering, architecture).
- 11-15 years of experience in the construction industry, with 5-6 years of experience in BIM and construction technology.
- Expert understanding of construction sequences.
- Deep understanding and proven experience in implementing construction technologies.
- Ability to develop and manage model management procedures.
- Strong understanding of building construction processes and various construction elements involved at each stage of construction.
- Advanced ability to supervise and ensure the quality of virtual construction models from design and trade partners.
- Understanding of commercial details and workflow processes.
- Advanced ability to read and understand 2D and 3D construction plans and specifications, and translate 2D plans into a complete 3D/4DB building information model.
- Advanced understanding and training in 3D modeling software.
- Experience with 4D planning software and tools.
