About Our Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a Correctional Program Developer. In this role, you will play a critical part in developing and delivering responsive and evidence-based programs and services to improve outcomes for individuals in custody and the community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver a variety of programs and services to meet the needs of individuals in custody and the community.
  • Collaborate with community partners to provide culturally responsive programs and services.
  • Work with Case Management Team members to review program referrals, inform case planning, coordinate supports and services, and inform release planning.

Requirements:

  • University degree with a major in Criminology, Sociology, Social Work, or another relevant field.
  • Two or more years of experience in a correctional setting, with experience facilitating programs.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to act decisively with sound judgment.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to develop rapport with facility staff and individuals in custody.

Working Conditions:

This is a term position based in Dartmouth at Central Nova Scotia Correctional Facility. You will work within a 24-hour operation and may be required to travel, work overtime, and be available for disruptions to personal and family life due to position responsibilities, workload, and other unplanned activities.
