Job Title: Land and Resource Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Land and Resource Specialist to join our team at the BC Public Service Agency. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in developing strategies and policies to support communities, First Nations, and industry through the ongoing forest sector transition.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment, where you will have the chance to engage directly with industry, stakeholders, and First Nations, listening to their needs and helping shape solutions that impact the future of BC's forest industry.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement strategies to support communities, First Nations, and industry through the forest sector transition
  • Engage with industry, stakeholders, and First Nations to understand their needs and develop solutions
  • Collaborate with team members to develop and implement policies and programs
  • Provide technical expertise and advice to support decision-making
Requirements:
  • Registered Professional Forester (RPF) with Forest Professionals BC (FPBC) or equivalent
  • Bachelor's Degree in a natural resource management related field or equivalent
  • 3+ years of experience working in a natural resource discipline
  • Training and/or experience in project management
  • Significant experience managing multiple projects or leading a component of a major project or regional initiative
