About the Role

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced teacher to join our team at the Abbotsford School District. As a French and Social Studies teacher, you will be responsible for teaching French 9, 10 and Social Studies 9 to our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach French 9, 10 and Social Studies 9 to secondary students
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet the needs of all learners
  • Assess student progress and provide feedback to students and parents
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practice
Requirements
  • Major/minor in French, History or related Social Science
  • Major practicum work in French Immersion
  • Experience teaching junior level students French Immersion at the secondary level
  • Experience utilizing IB assessment practices
  • Experience teaching Social Studies at the Secondary level
  • Eligible for B.C. Certification
  • Satisfactory teacher evaluation and/or final practicum reports
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of $61,838 to $108,458, with placement on the July 1, 2024 Teacher Salary Grid based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement.
