Teaching Opportunity in French Immersion

We are seeking a qualified French Immersion Teacher On Call to join our team at the Abbotsford School District. As a French Immersion Teacher On Call, you will work on a day-to-day basis or short-term assignments to relieve teachers in our French Immersion program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach French Immersion classes to students in grades K-12
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet the needs of diverse learners
  • Assess student progress and provide feedback to students and parents
  • Collaborate with colleagues to plan and deliver curriculum
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff in both English and French

Requirements:

  • Teacher training with a major practicum in French Immersion
  • Major/minor in French
  • Ability to demonstrate fluency in written and spoken French
  • Good spoken and written communication in English
  • Eligible for BC Teacher Certification

  • A competitive daily rate of $306.73 to $456.31, with placement on the July 1, 2023 Teacher Salary Grid based on length of service and qualifications
