About the Role

Hays Human Resources in Canada is partnering with a leading commercial construction company to hire a Human Resources Director in Edmonton, Alberta. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned HR professional to join a growing organization and contribute to its continued success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive HR strategy to support the organization's growth and objectives
  • Lead the HR function, including talent acquisition, employee development, performance management, and benefits administration
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to foster a culture centered on business values and drive organizational performance
  • Develop and implement environmental, social, and governance strategies to support the organization's sustainability goals
  • Manage the recruitment process, including executive management recruitment and succession planning
  • Develop and monitor an annual budget for HR, including employee recognition, corporate events, and administration
Requirements

To succeed as the Human Resources Director, you will bring 9+ years of progressive experience in your Human Resources career and will have been operating in a leadership capacity for at least 5 years. You will have post-secondary education relating to Human Resources and strong knowledge of Canadian employment and labour laws. A CPHR designation is valued in this role. You will bring a proven ability to manage change and create innovative HR solutions, as well as strong interpersonal, negotiation, and influencing skills.
