StevenDouglas is seeking a highly experienced Mine Superintendent to lead the day-to-day operations of our mine site. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the activities of Mine Supervisors and ensuring the safe and efficient execution of projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Leadership: Provide strategic direction and oversight to Mine Supervisors, ensuring the effective execution of operational plans and projects.
- Budgeting and Planning: Develop and manage budgets, performance targets, and key performance indicators to drive efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
- Equipment Management: Oversee the selection, procurement, and maintenance of new equipment to optimize mine operations.
- Performance Management: Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to direct reports to drive continuous improvement.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure adherence to collective agreement guidelines and promote a safe working environment through effective risk management and mitigation strategies.
- Team Development: Foster a collaborative and high-performing team culture, promoting open communication, teamwork, and environmental stewardship.
- Communication: Effectively communicate with the team, stakeholders, and senior management to ensure seamless execution of projects and operational plans.
Requirements:
- At least 10 years of experience in Open Pit Mining, with a strong background in operational leadership and management.
- Proven track record of driving efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness in mine operations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to develop and manage budgets, performance targets, and key performance indicators.
- Strong knowledge of collective agreement guidelines and safety protocols.
