About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety Supervisor to join our team at Skylark Logistics Inc. as part of our Environmental Monitoring department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct Environmental Surveys and Monitoring Programs: Conduct regular surveys and monitoring programs of the natural environment to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Inspect Spills and Hazardous Chemicals: Inspect spills of hazardous chemicals or products and take necessary actions to prevent environmental damage.
  • Investigate Workplace Accidents and Illnesses: Investigate workplace accidents or illnesses and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Develop and Implement Health and Safety Plans: Develop and implement health and safety plans to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure Compliance with Regulations: Ensure that all employees follow health and safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Inspect Sites and Facilities: Inspect sites or facilities to ensure safety and cleanliness standards are met.
  • Develop Policies and Standards: Develop policies, standards, and guidelines for environmental monitoring and health and safety.
  • Inspect Products and Processing Methods: Inspect products and processing methods to ensure compliance with health, quality, and safety regulations.
  • Inspect Cleanliness and Practices: Inspect the cleanliness and practices of establishment employees to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Act as Technical Consultant: Act as a technical consultant in a particular field of expertise to provide guidance and support to employees.
  • Inspect Commercial Vehicles: Inspect commercial vehicles to ensure compliance with regulations governing load restrictions, the transportation of hazardous materials, and public safety.
Requirements
  • Education: College/CEGEP or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in environmental monitoring and health and safety.
  • Computer and Technology Knowledge: Proficient in MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Word.
  • Transportation/Travel Information: Own transportation or valid driver's license and public transportation available.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Ability to work under pressure, tight deadlines, and physically demanding tasks.
  • Personal Suitability: Excellent oral and written communication skills, flexibility, judgement, organized, team player, efficient interpersonal skills, accurate, reliability, and ability to multitask.
