About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Procurement Specialist to join our team at Canadian Tire Corporation. As a key member of our Procurement department, you will play a critical role in driving financial performance and maximizing value from our $4.5 billion merchandising spending.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Performance: Contribute to the financial success of line reviews and vendor reviews through focused attention to procurement dimensions.
  • Research and Analysis: Conduct and/or support research, analysis, and recommendations in areas such as purchase analytics, current purchase mix, supply market reviews, sourcing strategy development, RFI/RFP development, quote/bid analysis, and vendor negotiations.
  • Process Improvement: Identify tools, templates, and best practice approaches to apply to supported categories, and develop approaches to increase productivity of Procurement and Merchandising teams.
  • Category Expertise: Use analysis and recommendations based on experience and learnings from other categories to challenge the status quo, providing recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Team Collaboration: Contribute to the team's overall objectives by sharing insights and providing recommendations from category projects.
Requirements
  • Buying Process Expertise: Understanding buying processes (e.g., Line Review) and experience working within a buying team are assets.
  • Analytical Experience: 3 or more years of progressive analytical experience.
  • Communication Skills: Demonstrated ability to communicate insights and recommendations clearly and confidently (both verbally and written) to stakeholders.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office, with advanced MS Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Time Management: Excellent time management and organization skills.
  • Teamwork: Works well in a team environment, seeking to share best practices and learn from other team members.
  • Adaptability: Ability to work with minimal supervision and adapt well to different categories and people.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical, quantitative reasoning, and problem-solving skills required.
