Position Overview

Blyth Academy is in search of enthusiastic and dedicated Summer School instructors for the upcoming summer term, specializing in Math, Science, and English to deliver the Ontario Secondary School curriculum at our Toronto campus. Preference will be given to candidates with experience teaching at the intermediate and senior levels.

While many of our educators hold OCT certification, we encourage qualified professionals from diverse educational backgrounds to submit their applications.

Blyth Academy stands as the largest private educational institution by enrollment in Ontario, boasting multiple campuses throughout the province. We provide a comprehensive full-time program for students in grades 5-12, alongside part-time, private, semi-private, night & weekend, summer school, and online courses.

Our primary objective is to enhance academic performance, equipping all students for university and future endeavors. At Blyth Academy, we personalize the curriculum to meet the unique needs of each student, rather than the other way around. By considering each student’s learning style and extracurricular commitments, we create a tailored educational plan.

Blyth Academy adheres to the curriculum standards established by the Ontario Ministry of Education. From this academic foundation, we incorporate student interests and hands-on learning experiences both inside and outside the classroom, alongside a compassionate approach to teaching and learning. We have developed strategies to integrate literacy and numeracy across the curriculum, supporting the provincial mandate to enhance student achievement in these vital skills. Our classrooms utilize research and evidence-based inquiry and decision-making methods to promote student success in these critical areas.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Small class sizes with an average of 8 students, fostering greater engagement and interaction; reduced administrative tasks (e.g., report cards, grading)
  • Summer School instruction (July - August)
  • Educate students with a focus on academic success and strong parental involvement
