Physician Associate

Fraser Health is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Physician Associate to join our Palliative Medicine team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care, work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, and contribute to the development of our clinical programs.
Key Responsibilities- Participate in patient rounds, assessments, and care planning under the supervision of attending physicians.
- Develop and implement treatment plans, respond to changing patient conditions, and communicate effectively with healthcare teams.
- Perform and document admission history and physical examinations, progress notes, discharge summaries, and medication reconciliation.
- Collaborate with nursing staff, other care team members, and patients and families to provide comprehensive care.
- Participate in quality improvement projects, professional development activities, and educational sessions to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
- Medical degree from a recognized institution.
- Minimum of two years of postgraduate training as a medical or surgical specialist.
- Successful completion of Part 1 of the Medical Council of Canada Qualifying Examination (MCCQE) or Steps 1 through 3 of the United States Medical Licensing Examinations (USMLEs).
- Eligibility for registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC) in the Associate Physician class.
- Demonstrated leadership practices, including clear, caring, and courageous leadership.
- Professional/Technical Capabilities: ability to diagnose and manage common medical problems, including pain, nausea, shortness of breath, and complex family dynamics.
- Computer and written communication skills, including order entry, clinical documentation, and ability to review relevant diagnostic information and health history.
