About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Designer III to join our team at US Tech Solutions. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a critical role in designing and developing innovative mechanical solutions for our residential energy products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the design process from initial concept to final production release, ensuring that all designs meet our high standards for quality and functionality.
  • Create and improve mechanical designs and drawings in PTC Creo Parametric/PDM, working collaboratively with our R&D team to drive innovation and excellence.
  • Conceptualize product innovations that meet market requirements, leveraging your expertise in mechanical design and engineering principles.
  • Validate mechanical components, analyze data, and write test reports to ensure that our products meet regulatory standards and customer expectations.
  • Estimate personal timelines to support effective project scheduling, ensuring that our projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Apply engineering principles for structural integrity, thermal performance, material performance, and manufacturability to ensure that our products are safe, efficient, and reliable.

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in Mechanical or Electro-Mechanical Engineering, with + years of experience in product design.
  • Demonstrated expertise in developing detailed designs through CAD models and drawings of both electrical enclosures and hardware.
  • Experience in designing with sheet metal, injection-molded plastic, die-casts, busbars, and harnessing for prototype and high-volume production.
  • Sound engineering design methodologies, including minimum constraint design, tolerance stack-up analysis, and GD&T, coupled with a design for excellence (DFX) mentality.
  • Familiarity with designing for compliance with regulatory standards (UL/IEC/NEC), most notably outdoor environmental protection.
  • Knowledge of BOM, DFMEA, FTA, and DVT processes is preferred.
