About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team at Jon Smith Subs as a Kitchen Helper. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our food preparation and service areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation and Service: Assist in the preparation and presentation of food items, including portioning, wrapping, and serving customers at counters or buffet tables.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of food quantities used and restock refrigerators and salad bars as needed.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by taking orders, answering questions, and resolving any issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Team Collaboration: Work effectively with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient and safe food preparation and service.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: Previous experience in the food service industry is an asset.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, lift heavy objects, and stand for long periods.
  • Personal Suitability: Excellent interpersonal skills, initiative, and ability to work under pressure.
Working Conditions
  • Work Environment: Fast-paced kitchen environment with repetitive tasks.
  • Work Schedule: 30 to 35 hours per week.
