The Security Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the security personnel on duty and enforcing safety protocols, guidelines, and service standards to safeguard all guests, staff, and assets of Regina Exhibition Association Limited. This role requires collaboration with various departments, clients, event organizers, and emergency services including police, fire, and medical teams.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Manage daily operations of the Security Division by:
- Providing adequate supervision of security staff
- Designating and assigning work locations
- Preparing reports, distributing uniforms, coaching staff on proper procedures, and addressing any disciplinary issues with management.
- Overseeing all transfers and deposits of cash and assets
- Ensuring compliance with liquor regulations
- Conducting security checks, including bag inspections
2. Ensure quality control and compliance by:
- Investigating incidents, resolving complaints, and compiling data to propose solutions
- Verifying that all entry points are secured throughout the venue
- Documenting and monitoring event attendance
3. Assist the Manager in scheduling employee shifts.
Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
WHAT IS REQUIRED
To be considered for this position, candidates should meet the following criteria:
- Minimum age of nineteen (19) years.
- Completion of grade twelve (12) education or equivalent GED.
- Possession of valid Serve-It-Right (SIRs) certification.
- Current First Aid certification.
- Formal training or relevant experience in security services or crowd management.
- Previous supervisory experience in security is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
- Capability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
- Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with others.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as necessary.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with a proven ability to inspire and guide team members.
- This position falls under the RWDSU Collective Agreement.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- The selected candidate must maintain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check (CRC).
- A valid Driver's License is required for this role.
