Our client, a well-established organization with a rich history of over 90 years, specializes in the development and upkeep of municipal water wells and pumping systems. They stand as a leader in the industry, offering both engineering and contracting services to a diverse array of municipal and industrial clients, focusing on the development, management, and maintenance of water wells, as well as the supply, installation, and upkeep of well pump systems and lift station pumping equipment.

Position Overview:

Our client is currently seeking a Project Engineer to become a vital part of their team on a permanent full-time basis . In this capacity, you will collaborate closely with the President and the Senior Project Engineer to deliver engineering support for the design, selection, and oversight of various company projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Design, select, and estimate costs for vertical turbine and submersible pumps across different applications.
  2. Prepare quotations and tenders for municipal well and pump supply, as well as maintenance and rehabilitation programs.
  3. Oversee the design, management, and execution of pump maintenance and well rehabilitation initiatives.
  4. Maintain client relationships and manage scheduling along with specific site requirements for service crews.
  5. Participate in the oversight and management of shop operations.
  6. Supervise junior staff and field crews as opportunities arise.
  7. Generate project reports and draft invoices for completed projects.
  8. Conduct office administration tasks as necessary.
  9. Engage in field assignments and hands-on projects as required.
  10. Explore opportunities for professional growth within the company and take on new responsibilities.
  11. Attend conferences and trade shows occasionally.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  1. Registered Professional Engineer in Ontario, in good standing, with a focus on Civil and/or Mechanical disciplines. Experience with rotating equipment is advantageous.
  2. 5-8 years of project management experience is preferred.
  3. A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and solve problems independently as well as collaboratively.
  4. Ability to identify areas for improvement and enhance efficiency in work processes.
  5. Strong interpersonal skills for effective teamwork.
  6. Proficient in standard office software applications.
  7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  8. Experience in municipal well supply or municipal water pumping station infrastructure is beneficial, though training will be provided to the successful candidate.
  9. Willingness and ability to travel to client sites within Ontario as needed.
  10. Standard workweek of 37.5 – 40 hours.
  11. Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
