Your Role as a Compliance Analyst
As a Compliance Analyst within the Legal Risk and Compliance Department, you will report directly to the Compliance Manager. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting firm members with client onboarding, conducting conflicts of interest assessments, and ensuring adherence to Know-Your-Client regulations. You will play a vital role in maintaining compliance with regulatory standards, industry best practices, and internal policies.
Work Environment
This position is part of a firm-wide team and can be based in any of our Canadian offices. The role primarily supports remote work, with occasional in-office collaboration as needed. Candidates should reside in proximity to their designated office to facilitate necessary commuting.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducting conflict searches to identify and document potential conflicts, ensuring effective communication with internal stakeholders.
- Researching corporate affiliations and reviewing conflict reports for relevance.
- Analyzing potential conflict issues independently.
- Reviewing New Business Intake forms for compliance with regulatory and internal standards.
- Training legal assistants and stakeholders on compliance processes.
- Providing ongoing support to legal teams.
- Familiarizing yourself with firm policies and addressing inquiries as needed.
- Assisting with special projects as required.
Qualifications
- A university degree in Law, Business, Social Sciences, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of three years of experience in a similar compliance role.
- Experience in a professional services environment, such as legal, accounting, or consulting.
- Prior experience with conflict searches is advantageous.
- Familiarity with Know Your Client (KYC) regulations is a plus.
