Job Title: General Practitioner in Oncology

We are seeking a highly skilled General Practitioner in Oncology to join our team at BC Cancer– East Kootenay Regional Hospital in Cranbrook, BC.

About the Role

This is a regular, full-time position, or negotiable, if multiple candidates wish to share FTE. The successful candidate will provide general outpatient medical oncology services and work collaboratively with our well-established team.

Responsibilities
  • Provide general outpatient medical oncology services to patients
  • Collaborate with the Head of Medical Oncology, BC Cancer-Kelowna, on issues related to patient care, research, teaching, and standards of care
  • Develop and maintain expertise in medical oncology through ongoing education and training
  • Contribute to the development of departmental policies and procedures
Requirements
  • Eligibility for licensure as a specialist in British Columbia
  • Canadian certification (FRCP, FRCS or CCFP) at the time of appointment
  • Suitability for appointment to the University of British Columbia
  • Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada as per TRC and BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act
  • Knowledge of social, economic, political, and historical realities impacting Indigenous communities and familiarity with Indigenous Cultural Safety and anti-racism and accompanying reports (BC DRIPA, TRC, etc.)
