Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Laboratory Technician to join our team at LifeLabs Medical Laboratory Services. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the delivery of high-quality laboratory testing services.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Patient Interaction: Greet and interact with patients in a professional and courteous manner, ensuring they understand the specimen collection process and follow necessary test protocols.
  2. Specimen Collection: Perform phlebotomies, connect/disconnect holter monitors, and perform ECG tracings, maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and comfort.
  3. Test Collections: Conduct special test collections, such as medical/legal drug screens, paternity tests, and clinical trials, and complete related documentation accurately and efficiently.
  4. Client Relationships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, responding to inquiries and following up on requests in a timely and professional manner.
  5. Data Entry: Complete data entry of patient demographics, requisition information, and other relevant data, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  6. Specimen Preparation: Prepare specimens for transportation and testing, adhering to strict quality control and safety protocols.

Requirements:

  1. Education: Graduate of an approved Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent.
  2. Computer Skills: Possess good computer skills with a minimum typing speed of 40 wpm.
  3. Confidentiality: Demonstrate the ability to maintain the strictest standards of patient privacy and confidentiality.
