Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will collaborate with marketing brokers and account service teams to serve public entity clients throughout Canada. While specific duties may be tailored to the successful candidate's skills, the primary responsibilities include:

  • Partnering with Account Executives to devise coverage strategies and marketing plans for renewals and new business.
  • Assessing client-specific risk exposures and coverage needs, and preparing marketing proposals for renewals and new business.
  • Building and nurturing strong relationships with underwriters to benefit our clients.
  • Negotiating with underwriters to secure optimal terms, conditions, and competitive pricing for both existing and new clients.
  • Ensuring all policies and documentation are accurate and compliant with agreed terms.
  • Following up with insurers to confirm adherence to negotiated contract terms.
  • Authorizing documentation for new contracts, policy amendments, additions, deletions, and renewals.
  • Performing additional related tasks as assigned.
  • Drafting manuscript policy documentation, including endorsements.
  • Calculating complex premiums, fees, adjustments, and taxes.
  • Conducting follow-ups on outstanding documentation.
  • Utilizing recognized Aon systems and procedures effectively.
  • Undertaking other related duties and responsibilities as required.

This position provides an opportunity to be part of a leading national team within Aon's largest industry segment, engaging with clients and colleagues across the country. The role is available in any Aon office location in Canada.

Qualifications for Success

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial insurance, including marketing and broking.
  • Broker licensing is advantageous.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively influence clients and insurance companies.
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines under pressure.
  • Strong computer proficiency, particularly with the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Capability to work collaboratively as a vital team member and independently with minimal supervision.
