We are seeking a skilled Nurse - Medicine Specialist to join our team at the Cree Board of Health and Social Services of James Bay (CBHSSJB). As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care services to patients of all ages, with a focus on pediatric care.
Key Responsibilities- Provide nursing care services to clients of all ages, including pediatric clients, under the authority of the Nursing Coordinator.
- Evaluate the health condition of users and determine and implement nursing care and treatment plans.
- Provide nursing and medical care and treatment aimed at maintaining and restoring health, as well as preventing disease.
- Plan, provide, and evaluate teaching activities intended for users, their relatives, and groups of people.
- Participate in research activities aimed at promoting health and preventing disease.
- Member of the Order of Quebec Nurses (O.I.I.Q.); DEC in Nursing.
- Minimum of two years' experience in different sectors of a hospital.
- Experience in emergency, pediatrics, obstetrics (an asset).
- Knowledge of Cree culture and social and health issues in Eeyou Istchee is an asset.
- Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
- Good resistance to stress.
- Excellent communication and listening skills.
- Take initiative and be autonomous.
- Open to other's culture, ability to adapt to change and to a new environment.
- Show interest and empathy towards others.
- Possess a capacity for analysis and synthesis.
Fluent in English; Fluency in Cree or French is an asset.
Other- This position could include on-call periods.
