Your role within the team:

The successful candidate will assist the Senior Tax Consultant in overseeing all tax-related activities, including income taxes, consumption taxes, and tobacco taxes for the Metro group and its subsidiary.

Your key responsibilities as a Tax Consultant:

  • Prepare tax returns for specific group entities
  • Engage in the annual and quarterly tax provision processes
  • Contribute to the review and reconciliation of tax accounts
  • Conduct reconciliations and accounting for tax provisions
  • Support the director during tax audits
  • Manage governmental correspondence and follow up accordingly
  • Participate in special projects related to acquisitions or tax reorganizations
  • Oversee the tax accounts of the group and maintain accurate records for our subsidiaries

Qualifications we seek:

  • Bachelor's degree and CPA certification
  • 4 to 5 years of experience in accounting and taxation
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel
  • Fluency in both French and English
  • Familiarity with Taxprep and Caseware software is advantageous
  • Completion of the "In-Depth Tax Course" or equivalent is preferred
