Hawthorne Recruitment is collaborating with a prominent Canadian clean energy developer, Natural Forces, to identify a qualified Director of Finance to join their executive team. This organization is dedicated to working alongside Indigenous Communities, Municipalities, and local stakeholders to implement sustainable energy projects in Canada, Ireland, and France.

The Director of Finance will report directly to the company's Principals and play a crucial role in ensuring the financial integrity and strategic advancement of the organization. This pivotal leadership position encompasses overseeing all financial functions, including budgeting, forecasting, and comprehensive financial reporting, while ensuring compliance with all relevant legal and financial regulations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Engaging in strategic planning and executive decision-making to enhance the organization’s financial performance.
  • Leading and nurturing the finance team to foster a collaborative atmosphere that aligns with the core values of Natural Forces.
  • Effectively communicating with stakeholders to deliver precise and transparent financial insights.
  • Identifying and mitigating financial risks to safeguard the company’s assets.

Preferred qualifications include:

  1. A bachelor's or master's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related discipline.
  2. Extensive experience in a senior financial management capacity, ideally within the renewable energy sector or a comparable field.
  3. Demonstrated leadership capabilities coupled with a strategic outlook.
  4. Outstanding numerical aptitude and analytical skills.
  5. A professional accounting designation (CPA, CFA, or equivalent) is highly regarded.
  6. A strong commitment to sustainability and ethical business practices, along with excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
