Job Title: Simulation Lab Coordinator

Vancouver Island University is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Simulation Lab Coordinator to join our team in the Faculty of Health Sciences and Human Services.

Job Summary:

The Simulation Lab Coordinator will be responsible for the supervision and day-to-day operation of the nursing simulation lab, working closely with faculty, staff, and external partners to design, implement, and evaluate simulation education and lab activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and maintain simulation equipment, media, computers, and materials related to simulation learning for various healthcare settings.
  • Collaborate with faculty and simulation specialists in designing, planning, implementing, and evaluating simulation education and lab activities, and curriculum materials to support student achievement of nursing program outcomes.
  • Plan, implement, and evaluate simulation lab activities in accordance with program policies, course objectives, and program outcomes.
  • Serve as an expert resource and leader to faculty in developing simulation in the classroom and simulation lab.
  • Promote a student-centered approach while providing client-centered services to all stakeholders.
  • Develop and incorporate evidence-based best practices in the delivery of simulation teaching and learning experiences.
  • Promote efficient and effective processes and procedures to meet HSHS faculty simulation needs.
Requirements:
  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience with clinical simulation equipment and technology.
  • Current practicing registration in good standing with BCCNM.
  • Minimum 2-3 years experience in training, coaching, or supporting students, preferably in a post-secondary institution.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • CASN or other certification in simulation education.
