The Tribal Chiefs Education Foundation is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Land Based Instructor to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for delivering and planning meaningful land-based activities for students in grades K-12.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement effective lesson plans that incorporate Cree culture and teachings, including native plants, wildlife habitat, environmental leadership, and other related topics.
- Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment that promotes student engagement and learning.
- Collaborate with Elders and community members to develop and deliver land-based education programs that reflect the values and traditions of the Cree people.
- Manage the development of lesson plans and educational materials that align with the curriculum and standards of the Tribal Chiefs Education Foundation.
- Participate in land-based meetings and camps, and contribute to the development of new programs and initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Education Degree or related training/experience.
- Knowledge and experience in land-based activities, including outdoor education and environmental leadership.
- Fluency in the Cree language is an asset.
- Class 5 Alberta Driver's License.
- Clean Criminal Record & Child Welfare Checks.
