About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Data Testing Lead to join our team at Nugget. As a key member of our Data Engineering team, you will be responsible for leading and testing large-scale, complex Data Modernization initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Data Platform Migration Projects: You will lead Data Platform migration projects, such as from Cognos to PowerBI, and ensure a seamless transition.
  • Automation First Mindset: You will have an automation-first mindset and coordinate with Data Engineering, Infrastructure, and other Technical teams to ensure efficient testing.
  • Stakeholder Management: You will manage stakeholders across multiple areas, including Business, Infrastructure, Network, IT Custodians, Development, and more.
  • Expertise in Data Testing: You will have in-depth knowledge in testing Azure Databricks, Azure ADLS Gen2, Azure Data Factory, Azure PowerBI, and SQL Server.
  • Excellent Coding Skills: You will have excellent coding skills in Python, PySpark, Scala, SQL, and Java.
  • Knowledge in Data Governance: You will have knowledge in Data governance, Data pipeline framework, Data ingestion, Data ops, Data profiling, Unity catalog, and more.
  • Develop Test Strategy: You will identify, prepare, and develop a comprehensive Test strategy/approach to test Azure Databricks ecosystem.
  • Coordinate Testing Activities: You will coordinate, perform, or lead UAT, Business, and E2E testing activities.
  • Design Automated Test Framework: You will design, develop, and maintain automated Data test framework, engineering pipelines, and scripts.
  • Identify Performance Bottlenecks: You will identify performance bottlenecks and provide support to Performance and Security testing.
  • Track QE Testing Progress: You will track and plan QE testing progress and provide analysis and metrics on the QE effort.
  • Coach and Mentor: You will coach and provide mentorship to the testing team and not be afraid to get hands dirty.
  • Single Point of Contact: You will be the single point of contact for all Data testing-related activities.
