ROLE SUMMARY

As a key player in one of Canada's rapidly expanding insurance brokerages, the Communications and Marketing Lead will be instrumental in crafting and executing a thorough and measurable marketing strategy. Following an extensive onboarding process to understand our services, clientele, and operational workflows, this role will involve assembling and managing a specialized marketing team to meet our dynamic marketing requirements while serving as the primary contact for the central office marketing division. The ideal candidate is organized, resourceful, proactive, and comfortable seeking clarification to meet the needs of internal and external stakeholders. A commitment to mastering the complexities of the insurance brokerage sector is essential. Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with a talent for fostering teamwork, are critical.

The Communications and Marketing Lead will engage in a variety of initiatives aimed at enhancing our sales offerings, specialized programs, and overall client experience. Staying abreast of contemporary marketing and communication practices, this individual will leverage their expertise in design, typography, and visual presentation to promote the Jones DesLauriers multi-line experience effectively.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Formulate and implement marketing strategies that align with business objectives to boost brand awareness and enhance customer engagement.
  • Oversee all marketing initiatives, including digital marketing, content development, website management, social media outreach, email campaigns, advertising efforts, and event coordination.
  • Assist the team in creating brand materials such as brochures, presentations, and proposal documents.
  • Collaborate with cross-departmental teams to synchronize marketing activities with business goals and product/service offerings.
  • Provide creative guidance on content production, including photography, videography, and copywriting.
  • Manage marketing budgets, timelines, and resources to ensure efficient project delivery.
  • Recruit, mentor, and lead a team of marketing professionals, offering guidance and support to foster their development and success.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to enhance marketing strategies and approaches.
  • Contribute to content development by producing and refining marketing materials across various formats, ensuring consistency in branding, style, quality, and tone across all channels, including digital and print.
  • Support internal communications by developing a strategy that includes key elements, communication channels, and engagement initiatives. Collaborate with the Human Resources team to prepare materials that enhance transparency and employee engagement.
  • Maintain and update marketing resources, ensuring they are current, accessible, and well-organized for team use.
  • Facilitate training on the effective use of marketing resources within the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, or a related field, with a portfolio showcasing relevant skills and design style.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a marketing management capacity.
  • Experience within the Insurance or Financial Services sector is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with WordPress and basic website content management.
  • Proficient in digital marketing tools and platforms, including Google Analytics and marketing automation systems.
  • Expertise in the Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign, Illustrator, and Premiere.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially PowerPoint, Word, and Excel, with the ability to create visually appealing presentations and proposals.
  • Basic copywriting skills are a plus.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and French is an asset.
