We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team at W.E.B. Investments Limited. As a Carpenter, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to the construction and maintenance of residential and commercial properties.
Key Responsibilities- Construction and Maintenance: Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials.
- Building Foundations: Install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems.
- Installation and Fitting: Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware.
- Site Management: Schedule and co-ordinate work on sites.
- Supervision: Supervise other workers.
- Maintenance and Repair: Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments.
- Education: No degree, certificate or diploma is required.
- Experience: Experience is an asset.
- Work Environment: The work site environment is at heights and dusty.
- Work Setting: The work setting is in construction, various locations, renovation, and residential.
- Level of Expertise: The level of expertise required is in maintenance and repair.
- Tasks: The tasks involved are physically demanding and require a combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching, kneeling, and handling heavy loads.
- Supervision: The supervision required is 1 to 2 people.
- Certifications and Licenses: The certifications and licenses required are Carpenter Trade Certification and Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate.
- Security and Safety: The security and safety requirements are bondable and a criminal record check.
- Transportation and Travel: The transportation and travel requirements are willing to travel regularly and a valid driver's licence.
- Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: The work conditions and physical capabilities required are physically demanding and require a combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching, kneeling, and handling heavy loads.
- Own Tools and Equipment: The own tools and equipment required are tools and steel-toed safety boots.
- Personal Suitability: The personal suitability required is client focus, efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral communication, reliability, team player, values and ethics, and work term is permanent.
- Language: The language required is English.
- Hours: The hours required are 38 to 46 hours per week.
