JVS Toronto is a leading provider of career counselling services, helping individuals identify their strengths and interests to achieve fulfilling careers.

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Career Counsellor to provide targeted and in-depth career assessments and counselling for clients from diverse backgrounds. The successful candidate will design career counselling interventions, administer and interpret career assessment tools, and provide information on education and training options.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide career assessments and counselling to clients, identifying their interests, skills, and personality attributes.
  • Design and implement career counselling interventions tailored to clients' unique needs.
  • Administer and interpret career assessment tools, such as Level B career assessment inventories.
  • Provide information on education and training options to help clients achieve their career goals.
  • Consult with prospective clients to clarify services offered and promote career services.
  • Source and develop new assessment batteries and program packages to enhance services.
  • Promote career services to ensure client flow and establish a pipeline of referrals.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Counselling Psychology, Adult Education, or related field.
  • Compliance with Canadian Standards & Guidelines for Career Development Practitioners.
  • 1-2 years of Counselling experience.
  • Experience administering and interpreting Level B Career Assessment tools.
  • Strong ability to use counselling techniques and effective problem-solving skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Computer literate, with ability to learn systems used by the agency.
  • A clear Police Vulnerable Sector check is required for this position.
