Career Counselling Services Overview

At JVS Toronto, we believe that every individual has opportunities for employment. Our Career Counselling Services assist clients in identifying their interests, skills, personality attributes, and values. This process allows them to develop a clear understanding of what will make a fulfilling career.

We're seeking a skilled Career Counsellor to provide targeted and in-depth career assessments and counselling for clients from a range of educational and occupational backgrounds. The ideal candidate will design career counselling interventions specific to client needs, administer and interpret results of Level B career assessment inventories, and provide information about specific jobs and career paths.

Responsibilities:

* Provide career assessments and counselling for clients
* Design career counselling interventions
* Administer and interpret career assessment results
* Provide information about specific jobs and career paths
* Advise clients on education and training options
* Promote Career Services to ensure client flow

Requirements:

* Master's degree in Counselling Psychology, Adult Education, or related field
* Compliance with Canadian Standards & Guidelines for Career Development Practitioners
* 1-2 years of Counselling experience
* Experience administering and interpreting Level B Career Assessment tools
* Strong ability to use counselling techniques
* Effective problem-solving skills
* Effective written and verbal communication skills
* Strong interpersonal skills
* Computer literate
* A clear Police Vulnerable Sector check is required
