Position Overview
As an Electrical Project Supervisor, you will be integral to the success of Kiewit. Your role will encompass field supervision, potentially overseeing multiple Foremen and craft personnel. You will ensure the organization of work methods, scheduling, cost management, adherence to specifications, quality of workmanship, and the allocation of tasks to achieve project objectives, either directly or through General Foremen. Additionally, you will strive to foster positive relationships with clients, architects, engineers, suppliers, subcontractors, and jobsite personnel.

District Overview
Kiewit Energy Canada operates from Calgary, Alberta, and is a leading industrial contractor engaged in the construction of oil and gas facilities, including oilsands processing, upgrading and refining, midstream facilities, power generation, and major mining projects. Our Modular Yard facility is located in Edmonton, Alberta. Our engineering division is at the forefront of innovation, providing advanced engineering services for ongoing projects and new ventures across Canada. Our design services team, based in Calgary and Houston, specializes in process, piping, mechanical, electrical, and civil/structural disciplines.
Location
We are primarily seeking superintendents in the Edmonton and Calgary regions. One of the distinctive aspects of Kiewit's culture is our adaptability to project locations, which opens up numerous career opportunities. Responsibilities
- Mentor and develop junior superintendents.
- Review and approve labor rates for Foremen, journeymen, and laborers.
- Manage contract administration and facilitate communication through subcontractor and field management meetings.
- Establish a program to maintain strong client relations with onsite staff.
- Initiate and participate in regular meetings with clients for problem-solving and planning.
- Oversee and approve monthly job cost updates and quarterly cash flow forecasts.
- Review, approve, and negotiate change orders.
- Develop and implement plans for project completion and handover.
- Maintain a daily diary for record-keeping purposes.
- Ensure timely performance evaluations for direct reports.
- Recommend organizational, policy, procedural, or staffing changes as necessary.
- Review and approve promotions up to General Foremen.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in Electrical Construction, with at least 1 year in a Superintendent or leadership role, preferably in industrial projects such as oil and gas facility construction or renewable energy.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
- Quick learner with a strong understanding of Kiewit's policies, procedures, and software.
- Proficient in identifying and resolving issues as they arise.
- Excellent organizational, administrative, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong background in leadership, safety, negotiations, planning, and contract management.
