About the Role
We are seeking an organized and team-oriented individual to fill the position of Parts Technician at our Calgary location. As a Parts Technician, you will be responsible for managing and dispensing parts inventories, including automotive and heavy duty. Your duties will include:
- Handling customer inquiries and determining their requirements to recommend specific products and solutions.
- Recommending alternate products based on cost, availability, or specifications.
- Increasing sales and average order size through cross-selling, up-selling, and offering promotional sale items.
- Accurately processing customer transactions, such as orders, quotes, or returns.
- Maintaining accurate records of discussions or correspondence with customers.
- Performing weekly cycle counts and monthly and yearly inventory counts.
- Applying core standards to returns and classifying cores according to vendor programs.
- Performing other related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A High School Diploma or GED.
- A minimum of 1-2 years of related industry experience.
- Journeyman or senior apprentice preferred.
- Knowledge and experience with MS Word and Excel.
- Experience with a computerized inventory system (ADP) considered an asset.
- Strong customer service, troubleshooting, and communication skills, with experience analyzing and resolving customer service and client issues.
- A self-starter with the ability to prioritize and organize workload.
- Excellent attention to detail with a sense of urgency to meet tight deadlines.
