Job Summary

The Statistical Programmer Analyst will become a valued member of the established statistical programming team at Hamilton Health Sciences. This role is responsible for designing and maintaining study databases, as well as study reports. The successful candidate will collect report specifications, program reports and associated graphics, and design a user-friendly reports interface. They will also set-up procedures for data import and export as needed, perform system consistent checks, test and validate all aspects of programs for accuracy, and provide user support for reports interface. Additionally, they will maintain and support other programs created by other programmers as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and maintain study databases and reports
  • Collect report specifications and program reports and associated graphics
  • Design a user-friendly reports interface
  • Set-up procedures for data import and export as needed
  • Perform system consistent checks
  • Test and validate all aspects of programs for accuracy
  • Provide user support for reports interface
  • Maintain and support other programs created by other programmers as needed
Requirements
  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Statistics, or related field
  • Strong skills in Computing Science or Statistics
  • Knowledge of clinical research
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a health-related biometric and/or data management field
  • Thorough knowledge in developing and maintaining SAS and/or other analytic applications
  • Thorough knowledge of relational database management systems (e.g. Oracle, SQL)
  • Knowledge of any of the following common programming languages: C, Python, Java, etc.
  • Proficient in a UNIX environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment
