The BC Cancer Victoria Radiation Oncology Department is actively seeking a dedicated and skilled Radiation Oncologist to join our team within the provincial Radiation Therapy program. This role involves collaboration with a team of 22 Radiation Oncologists, two General Practitioners in Oncology, and two Nurse Practitioners. Our facility is a medium-sized academic cancer center that provides services to Vancouver Island and the Southern Gulf Islands.

Our department is equipped with advanced technology, including 6 Varian Truebeam linear accelerators, a superficial unit, 2 CT simulators, and a diagnostic CT-PET. We have established programs in prostate and gynecologic brachytherapy, along with a developing stereotactic program that addresses nearly all anatomical sites. Annually, we treat approximately 3,000 patients with radiotherapy and maintain an active academic program.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care and will be involved in the education of medical students and residents.

Applicants must be eligible for licensure in British Columbia and should possess their Fellowship in Radiation Oncology from the RCPSC or an equivalent qualification by the time of appointment. The successful candidate will receive a clinical appointment with the UBC Faculty of Medicine, Department of Surgery, Division of Radiation Oncology, and will have privileges through both the Provincial Health Services Authority and our partner health authority.

  • Understanding of the social, economic, political, and historical contexts affecting Indigenous communities, along with familiarity with Indigenous Cultural Safety and anti-racism initiatives.
