Job Title: Head Custodian

GJE Transport and General Services Ltd. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Custodian to join our team. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and safety of our facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Hire and Train Staff: Recruit, train, and supervise a team of cleaning staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties.
  • Inspect and Maintain Facilities: Conduct regular inspections of our facilities to ensure they meet our high standards of cleanliness and safety.
  • Prepare Budgets and Estimates: Develop and manage budgets and cost estimates for cleaning services and maintenance projects.
  • Coordinate Work Activities: Work closely with other departments to ensure seamless coordination of work activities and minimize disruptions.
  • Maintain Financial Records: Accurately record and maintain financial records related to cleaning services and maintenance projects.
Requirements:
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Certifications: Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate.
  • Security and Safety: Criminal record check.
Work Environment:

This is a fast-paced environment that requires the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. The successful candidate will be physically demanding and require the ability to stand for extended periods, handle heavy loads, and perform repetitive tasks.
