We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Laboratory Assistant II to join our team at Northern Health Authority. As a Medical Laboratory Assistant II, you will play a vital role in supporting our laboratory services, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our testing processes.
Key Responsibilities- Perform specimen collection, preparation, and testing under the supervision of the Chief Technologist or designate.
- Conduct inpatient and/or outpatient Electro Cardiogram (ECG) testing, and/or Holter monitor testing as required, and explain test procedures to patients.
- Perform routine equipment cleaning and maintenance to ensure optimal laboratory operations.
- Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure seamless testing processes and accurate results.
- Grade 12, successful completion of a recognized Lab Assistant training program, plus one (1) year's recent, related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to deal with others effectively.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
- Ability to organize work.
- Ability to operate related equipment.
- Ability to type at 25 wpm.
