Job Summary

Reporting to the Manager Quality & Safety, the Safety Consultant is accountable for the application of safety practices and standards to protect, promote and maintain the health & safety of the Saskatchewan Health Authority.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement the SHA Management System to support the existing Safety Program, with the intent of exceeding minimum standards in Health & Safety.
  • Ensure consistent application of all patient and staff safety legislation, regulations and practices, quality improvement methodologies and client concern handling.
  • Maintain quality and safety as outlined in the SHA Quality & Safety Plan and support the deployment and replication of the SHA Management System throughout the organization.
  • Participate in and lead efforts to link in with key stakeholders to support safety and continuous quality improvement at all levels of the organization.
  • Develop project teams, determine the scope of projects, establish target dates, monitor outcomes and provide regular updates.
Requirements
  • Effectively work with staff, leaders, physicians to integrate best practices and standards.
  • Influence the success of system wide improvement and attainment of organizational goals.
