Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Control Technician to join our team at Holcim. As a Quality Control Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring that our concrete products meet the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct material sampling and testing of raw materials for use in concrete production
  • Ensure that our concrete laboratory follows all relevant CSA/CCIL requirements
  • Troubleshoot problems at the concrete plant and on-site
  • Assist in the research and development of new concrete products
  • Project professionalism with customers and coworkers

Qualification Profile

Education:

  • Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology (preferred), C.E.T designation (preferred)

Experience:

  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record
  • Strong computer knowledge (e.g., Microsoft Excel)
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Team player with a willingness to learn
  • Demonstrates initiative, responsibility, and a strong work ethic
  • Ability to work safely following all safety and environmental requirements
  • Excellent organizational skills

Compensation and Benefits

  • Hourly non-union rate: $22 per hour for regular time; 1.5x pay rate for overtime; 2x pay for working Sundays
  • All company benefits (e.g., vehicle, phone) will be provided in accordance with Holcim's company policy

Travel Requirements

  • This position requires travel to sites between Red Deer and Sylvan Lake

Pre-Employment Requirements

  • A pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol testing, and a criminal record check may be required
