About the Opportunity

The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer reports to the Manager of Diagnostic Imaging, as a member of the Diagnostic Imaging Team performs patient care, technical activities and duties directly related to the overall functioning of the department. The purpose of this position involves the performance of routine and specialized ultrasound procedures in the Diagnostic Imaging Department ensuring proper application of ultrasound techniques and procedures.

Travel to other sites may be required.

About You

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diagnostic medical sonography and be certified by Sonography Canada. A graduate of an accredited School of Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound and licensure with the Nova Scotia College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals (NSCMIRTP) are also required.

Previous experience in a similar role is an asset, as is registration with more than one ultrasound credential. Competencies in other languages, particularly French, are also an asset.

Hours

This is a permanent full-time position, with a 75-hour biweekly schedule. Call back, stand by, and shift work are required, including days, evenings, and weekend and holiday coverage. Nights may be required.

Compensation and Incentives

The successful candidate will be offered a competitive hourly rate of $34.24 - $39.96. In addition, they may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
