Senior Electrical Design Engineer

As a Senior Electrical Design Engineer at PV Labs, you will play a pivotal role in the intricate architecture, design, verification, testing, and deployment of high-performance airborne optical systems. Our approach emphasizes modularity and component-based design, fostering an environment for innovation and enhancement of electrical designs. We are in search of a professional with a strong background in complex, high-speed applications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct design, analysis, implementation, and verification of intricate multi-layer FPGA and microprocessor circuit boards tailored for high-speed and high-power applications.
  • Perform testing, verification, and debugging of sophisticated FPGA, microprocessor, and analog/power circuit designs.
  • Develop and assess electrical simulations utilizing LTSpice.
  • Engineer cable assemblies to satisfy signal, noise, power, and reliability specifications.
  • Identify avenues for cost efficiency and reliability enhancements.
  • Design, implement, and validate firmware using VHDL.
  • Adopt a Design-for-Test methodology for evaluating embedded boards and systems.
  • Create functional test systems to confirm designs and validate manufactured assemblies.
Essential Technical Skills:
  • Expertise in design and implementation adhering to Signal Integrity best practices for digital systems.
  • Knowledge of EMI standards compliance in design.
  • Understanding of manufacturing requirements applicable to circuit boards.
  • Familiarity with PCB and circuit board production processes.
  • Proficiency in advanced electrical CAD tools, such as Cadence OrCad and Allegro, is advantageous.
Valuable Technical Competencies:
  • Experience with military power and environmental design requirements is a plus.
  • Awareness of aircraft safety design standards is beneficial.
