EHS Manager

CertainTeed Canada is seeking an experienced EHS Manager to join our team in Mississauga. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for providing leadership to our Health, Safety, and Environment programs, ensuring compliance with corporate and provincial legislative requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Analyze EHS data to inform and drive decision-making, ensuring alignment with our World Class Manufacturing framework.
- Conduct regular inspections and evaluations to identify and mitigate risks, ensuring a safe and healthy work environment.
- Develop and implement EHS training programs, promoting a culture of safety and wellness among employees.
- Liaise with government entities and maintain all necessary permits and certifications.
- Collaborate with plant management to develop and implement site-specific EHS initiatives, driving continuous improvement in performance.
- Lead and facilitate Joint Health and Safety Committee meetings, ensuring open communication and employee engagement.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies, ensuring the identification and control of hazards.
- Investigate safety incidents, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Develop and implement safety risk reduction project plans, utilizing data-driven approaches to drive improvement.
- Ensure compliance with all EHS standards, regulations, and company policies, promoting a culture of safety and responsibility.
- University degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Relations, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in EHS management, preferably in a unionized industrial manufacturing environment.
- Proven track record of success in EHS leadership, with a strong focus on compliance, risk management, and employee engagement.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to influence others without direct authority.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Windows-based applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
