About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director to lead the internal Project Management Office (PMO) team and manage the portfolio of internal projects at VIA HFR.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the PMO team, foster a collaborative work environment, and promote continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Directly manage some internal projects or supervise project managers to:
    • Establish project plans, schedules, and budgets.
    • Track progress, identify critical paths to meet project milestones and deadlines.
    • Identify project risks, assess their potential impact, and develop risk mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions and delays.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders and project teams to meet project objectives.
    • Establish cost control, schedule management, risk assessment, and change management processes and tools.
    • Establish and implement standardized documents and reporting formats for internal projects, ensuring consistency and clarity in communication across various project stakeholders.
    • Establish project performance metrics, track key performance indicators (KPIs), provide regular progress reports to project stakeholders, and make recommendations.
    • Prepare progress reports, technical documentation, and presentations for project stakeholders, including executive leadership.
  • Develop and implement project management methodologies, cost control, scheduling, risk management, and performance measurement strategies.
  • Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Management, Business Administration, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a project management role, with previous experience leading a project management team or PMO.
  • Strong expertise in project management methodologies, cost control, scheduling, risk management, and performance measurement.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data, identify trends, and develop actionable insights.
  • Excellent leadership and collaboration skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve project goals and objectives.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Fluency in both Canadian official languages is an asset.
