Job Title: Designated Early Childhood Educator

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Designated Early Childhood Educator to join our team at District School Board Ontario North East.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the classroom teacher and principal to plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities that reflect the Full-Day Early Learning-Kindergarten Program. This role requires a thorough understanding of the Ministry of Education's Full-Day Early Learning-Kindergarten Program and the developmental continuum for this age group.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the classroom teacher to plan and implement play-based activities that allow students to demonstrate learning related to the four frames of the Full-Day Early Learning-Kindergarten Program.
  • Effectively and efficiently observe and document student learning using a variety of tools and techniques to assist the educator in the assessment of the development of students.
  • Collaborate with the classroom teacher to promote and maintain a healthy physical, emotional, and social learning environment.
  • Assume other duties/responsibilities specifically related to the functions of children and the effective delivery of the Early Learning Curriculum as determined by the Principal and the Superintendent of Education.
Requirements:
  • Registered with the College of Early Childhood Educators.
  • Must be fluent in French.
  • Demonstrated appropriate behaviour management techniques with individuals, small, and large groups.
  • Demonstrated positive interpersonal skills in working with students, teachers, principals, and families.
  • Demonstrated professional communication skills.
  • Demonstrated initiative, positive thinking, critical thinking, and sound decision-making skills.
