Position Overview:
We are looking for a meticulous and proficient Pharmacy Technician to contribute to our operations at Onedersquad. The Pharmacy Technician is essential in assisting pharmacists with the distribution of medications, overseeing inventory, and ensuring top-notch customer service. The successful candidate will exhibit exceptional organizational abilities, a dedication to precision, and the capacity to thrive in a dynamic work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily medication cart exchanges for hospitalized patients.
- Oversee the inventory management of PYXIS Automated Dispensing Cabinets.
- Monitor expiration dates and ensure the proper disposal, destruction, or return of expired products in accordance with pharmacy regulations and manufacturer guidelines.
- Prepare packaged medications, including narcotics and controlled substances.
- Ensure the availability of Emergency Medication trays.
- Keep track of stock levels, initiate procurement processes as needed, and comply with relevant laws and contractual agreements.
- Assess appropriate purchase quantities based on inventory management principles and available storage capacity.
- Receive and verify incoming shipments, follow up on back orders, and resolve any outstanding issues.
- Conduct thorough medication histories with patients to support medication reconciliation.
Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited Pharmacy Assistant or Technician Program is mandatory.
- Registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP).
- Commitment to ongoing professional development.
- 2-3 years of relevant experience in a pharmacy setting.
- Familiarity with Windows Operating System, Microsoft Office Suite, PakEdge, Medi dose, and Meditech Expanse is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of pharmaceutical handling techniques.
- Experience with pharmacy management software.
- Proficient in pharmaceutical calculations.
- Knowledge of computerized inventory management and control processes.
- Demonstrated satisfactory employment and attendance history.
