The RoleThe HSE Specialist will be a key member of the Canadian HSE Team, aligning and implementing Thermon's Canadian and Global HSE programs. This role will provide HSE expertise and support to Thermon's Construction Services group in Edmonton and to Thermon's Manufacturing and Temporary Power Solutions groups in Calgary, Edmonton, and Fort McMurray.
Key Responsibilities- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders through trust, consistency, collaboration, effective communication, and results.
- Develop, implement, and administer Thermon Canada HSE practices and processes, aligning with Company goals to drive the business.
- Advocate and drive for the resolution of HSE issues and concerns, including internal investigations, corrective actions, and coaching.
- Champion and model our core values, engraining them into the culture and psyche of the organization.
- Provide full-service HSE support for Thermon's operations in Edmonton, Calgary, and Fort McMurray.
- Maintain and continuously improve the COR certified HSE program.
- Assist with the development and review of Job Hazard/Risk Assessments and Safe Work Practices.
- Maintain all Company safety certifications and training and all applicable documentation and records.
- Evaluate and manage sub-contractors.
- Manage WCB claims and support managers and supervisors in the safe and early return to work of injured employees.
- Manage online compliance sites such as ISNetworld, Avetta, Complyworks, etc.
- Visit customer/project sites to ensure compliance to legislated and Thermon requirements.
- Undergraduate degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related discipline and experience.
- CRSP designation or working towards.
- 5 years of direct working experience in the administration of Health and Safety programs.
- Up-to-date knowledge of Alberta Health and Safety legislation.
- Knowledgeable in other provincial Health and Safety regulations an asset.
- Experience with Certificate of Recognition (COR) program (Certified auditor an asset).
- Experience in managing HSE programs across multiple sites.
- Verbal and written fluency in English.
- Strong computer proficiency, with emphasis on MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel is mandatory.
- Ability to travel to customer/project sites and Thermon facilities (Alberta).
