Job Summary

The Ville de Laval is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Environmental Inspector to join our team. As an Environmental Inspector, you will be responsible for conducting inspections, collecting data, and analyzing results to ensure compliance with municipal regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct field inspections to verify and evaluate compliance with regulations related to noise and nuisance control;
  • Identify potential issues and propose corrective measures;
  • Prepare inspection reports, compile statistics, and produce data analyses;
  • Report anomalies, investigate possible causes of pollution, discuss infractions with offenders, and report to supervisors;
  • Conduct noise measurements, analyze results, and provide recommendations;
  • Issue infraction notices and summonses, and testify in court as needed;

Requirements

  • Diploma in Environmental Studies, Environmental Health and Safety, or a related field;
  • Two years of experience in inspections, analysis, and recommendations related to environmental issues, as well as application of environmental policies, regulations, and procedures;
  • Acoustic training or knowledge is an asset;
  • Safety training for construction sites (SST) is an asset;
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license and vehicle (if possible);
  • Excellent communication skills in French, both written and verbal; English is an asset;

  • Starting salary: $60,116.35 (35.03$/h);
  • Work schedule: 8:15am to 5:30pm, 4 days a week (Monday to Thursday or Tuesday to Friday), for a total of 33 hours/week;
