Job Summary

The Mobile Crisis Team Clinician is a critical member of The Link's Youth Crisis Stabilization System, providing crisis intervention services to clients, their families, and caregivers in a professional manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to crisis calls, assess situations, and provide interventions in the community, as well as referrals when necessary.
  • Observe and identify potential underlying causes of crisis situations, providing on-site intervention, including mental health and risk assessments, mental status exams, safety plans, and follow-up plans for youths and their families/caregivers.
  • Complete required documents and provide clear, concise, professionally written reports detailing the nature of the crisis and subsequent assessments and plans.
  • Refer youth, families, and caregivers to suitable resources and advocate on their behalf when required.
  • Engage clients' families in the resolution process whenever possible.
  • Provide support to other team members and act in a consultative capacity.
  • Maintain appropriate boundaries and confidentiality with clients and families, adhering to all policies and procedures.
  • Provide triage and referral services.
  • Offer consultation to collateral agencies, such as Children's Mental Health, Child and Family Services, schools, probation, and police services.
  • Facilitate topic-specific training sessions to assist staff in developing skills to implement treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with other Youth Crisis Stabilization System staff and external agencies to ensure continuity and communication throughout the system.
  • Represent The Link's Youth Crisis Stabilization System program within and outside the organization.
  • Maintain open communication within the agency and fulfill administrative duties as assigned.
  • Engage in ongoing clinical and professional development through reading, attending workshops, and peer and clinical consultation.
Requirements
  • Undergraduate degree in Human Services or accreditation from a governing Human Services College (e.g., RSW), or a combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of work experience in a supervised clinical setting.
  • Emergency First Aid and CPR Level C, or willingness to obtain.
  • Satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search, a clear Child Abuse Registry check with acceptable Prior Contact checks, and a clear Adult Abuse Registry check, all done within the last 3 months.
  • ASIST Certificate (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training).
  • Crisis De-escalation Training.
  • Valid driver's license, acceptable driver's abstract, and access to a vehicle for work purposes.
  • Knowledge of Indigenous customs, traditions, and beliefs will be considered an asset.
Working Conditions

The Mobile Crisis Team Clinician will work 80 hours biweekly with varied shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Salary Range

$52,132.36-$73,187.50
