Position Overview

As the Lead Case Management Specialist, you will oversee the management of a portfolio of complex injury claims. Your role involves guiding and supporting claimants throughout their recovery journey, ensuring they have access to necessary benefits and resources. You will assess files for potential return-to-work (RTW) opportunities, track rehabilitation progress, and manage financial aspects of claims to optimize cost efficiency while safeguarding against potential claims leakage.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design tailored rehabilitation and RTW plans, as well as long-term case strategies and modifications for home and vehicle to meet the specific needs of each claimant.
  • Continuously monitor the recovery process of claimants, proactively identifying and addressing potential obstacles to recovery and benefit resolution.
  • Educate claimants on their recovery responsibilities, informing them of any changes in their medical status, and ensuring adherence to their recovery plans.
  • Collaborate with the claimant's rehabilitation team, facilitating necessary medical consultations.
  • Contribute to a supportive and collaborative team environment by engaging in decision-making, sharing information, and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Provide mentorship to team members, recognizing opportunities for learning and actively participating in their professional development.
Qualifications
  • Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Medical Rehabilitation (Athletic, Occupational, or Physical Therapy, or Kinesiology), or a related field.
  • Degree in Business, Arts, or a relevant discipline.
  • Certification in Case Management, such as:
    • Rehabilitation Case Management Certificate
    • Rehabilitation Benefit Administration Certificate
    • Disability Management Practitioner Certificate
  • National Institute of Disability Management and Research (NIDMAR) designation is preferred.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in case management.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess various claimant scenarios and determine appropriate actions, with a comprehensive understanding of the implications of decisions.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Proficient in financial management, including conducting calculations and maintaining adequate reserves for claims.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
  • Access to a personal vehicle and a valid driver's license.
