We are seeking a highly skilled Data Governance Expert to join our team at the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce. As a key member of our Enterprise Data Governance team, you will play a critical role in owning and managing the Enterprise Data Governance Policy, and adherence to Policy requirements and related processes.
Key Responsibilities- Policy Development and Management
- Lead the creation and management process for development and continuous improvement of Enterprise Data Governance Policy, standards, procedures, and processes.
- Develop and maintain key controls within Enterprise Data Governance to ensure a sustainable Enterprise Data Governance Practice.
- Oversight and Monitoring
- Lead the creation and management of key oversight mechanisms and controls within Enterprise Data Governance and across Strategic Business Units and Functional Groups.
- Support planned and ad-hoc development and delivery of program and project work packages relating to Data Governance Adherence and Risk Assessments.
- Data Risk Assessment and Management
- Support the data risk assessment processes as required to ensure effective management of data risk as assessed and identified through processes such as Change Initiative Risk Assessment (CIRA), Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA), Technology Triage, and Third Party Risk Assessment (TPRA).
- Education and Experience
- 4-6 years of experience in data governance, data and records management, policy and compliance or risk management.
- Skills and Qualifications
- Strong understanding of data governance and management best practices and data lifecycle management.
- Strong technical writing skills.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
